ProjectGutenberg  has more 30,000 free books you can download to read on your Kindle. These books were previously published on paper by bona fide publishers and digitized by them with the help of thousands of volunteers. All their ebooks can be easily downloaded: Choose between ePub, Mobipocket, HTML and simple text formats. The books are  free in the United States because their copyright has expired.

Manybooks.net is a service to the Internet community at large. All of the eBooks from manybooks.net are free, however  donations toward the maintenance of the site are welcome and help defray the cost of bandwidth, file storage, and server hardware.

Mnybooks.net is a part of Manybooks but you can access it through the basic Webbrowser in your Kindle. You can download Kindle Books directly to your Kindle the way you would an Amazon book. Choose the Mobipocket format as that is the only format that will work.

The Internet archive’s 1.8 million books now available as free Kindle books. Most are in MobilPocket/Kindle format. Choose Mobi from the download links.The Internet Archive is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that was founded to build an Internet library. Its purposes include offering permanent access for researchers, historians, scholars, people with disabilities, and the general public to
historical collections that exist in digital format.



The Kindle Store has Free public domain books. You can also navigate into any subsection of the Kindle Store and order books by Price: Low to High to get free Kindle books in that section.
